Commission Process

Commission Process

step 1

CONTACT ME & LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU WANT

Send me an email through my contact me page. I also respond quickly to direct messages through Instagram.

Let me know the following:

+ What size pet painting you would like (small, medium, large)

+ What canvas shape you would like (square or rectangular)

+ Any time restraints or deadlines

+ The country you want the commission shipped to

+ Any background colour preferences. Best way is to browse through the gallery and let me know which ones you like best. Or leave it up to me to surprise you come the big reveal.

+ Any optional extras you would like (frames, extra pets)

step 2

TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR PET/S AND SEND THEM TO ME

My tips for taking good painting reference photos:

+ Kneel and come down to your pet's level. This helps steady the camera to prevent blur and makes a more personal composition.

+ Take the photo outdoors, preferably when it is cloudy. Natural lighting is best, but strong sunlight can white out detail.

+ Try a few angles, straight on, 3/4 angle, side on, looking up at your pet - avoid the looking down angle.

+ Get a good shot of their eyes - eyes are the window to the soul.

+ If you need inspiration take a look at some of the gallery, find your favourite one and try to recreate the same angle.

step 3

I START PAINTING & SEND YOU UPDATES FOR APPROVAL

Once we have established what type of commission you would like and which photo to use I will begin. I will send you progress shots as I go. It usually takes me 5-7 days to paint a commission.

Have a look at the progress photos and give me your feedback, let me know your thoughts as we go. My main aim is to paint a palette knife pet portrait you can treasure forever.

step 4

PAYMENT, SHIPPING & YOUR VERY OWN PAINTING

You've seen the final painting, I won't invoice you till you are 100% happy.

I can accept payments through direct bank transfers or Paypal. If you decided to collect the painting in person I can also accept cash and card payments.

Due to the thick oil paint, most of my paintings take 3 weeks to be dry enough for shipment. Once the painting is dry and I have received the full payment I will ship the painting. I like to track the delivery and will send you tracking details.

Your own personal painting arrives safe and ready to hang and treasure!
